Depth/Stencil format conversions

description

The current Convert function for depth/stencil is a bit naïve and should be revisited, particularly for conversion from depth/stencil to RGB(A) and back.

DXGI_FORMAT_D32_FLOAT
DXGI_FORMAT_D24_UNORM_S8_UINT
DXGI_FORMAT_D32_FLOAT_S8X24_UINT
DXGI_FORMAT_D16_UNORM

Should also check that conversions between depth/stencil <-> depth work as expected.

Resolved with changeset 38233: DirectXTex: Improved format conversions
  • depth/stencil conversions incl fix for stencil data handling
  • alpha only conversions
  • fixed bug with half-precision (float16) format conversions
  • fixed bug with RGB -> 1 channel conversion for non-UNORM sources
